1. Newport, Rhode Island - Newport, Rhode Island, is a quaint and picturesque seaside town nestled in the heart of New England. Known for its rich history and stunning architecture, Newport offers a plethora of attractions that are sure to capture your heart. Among the top of these attractions is the opulent Vanderbilt Mansion, a testament to the exuberant wealth of America's Gilded Age. Another notable attraction is the Cliff Walk, a scenic trail that showcases the town's natural beauty along the rocky coastline. For a taste of the town's maritime history, take a stroll along the charming Newport Harbor, home to quaint fishing boats and luxurious yachts. And, of course, a visit to Newport wouldn't be complete without a tour of the famous Newport Mansions, grand homes that catered to the social elite of the early 20th century. My family loves to visit in the summer when the Jazz Festival is hosted. Check out some of the great bed and breakfasts to stay at. Whether you're looking for history, nature, or luxury, Newport has something to offer for every vacationer.

2. Montreal, Quebec, Canada – I have been to Montreal 5 times over the years. If you're planning a trip to Montreal, Canada, you're in for a treat! Not only is this city brimming with culture and history, but it's also home to some of the best attractions in the country. One must-see destination is Montreal's iconic Notre-Dame Basilica, an awe-inspiring piece of architecture with stunning stained-glass windows that will take your breath away. Another must-visit attraction is the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, showcasing impressive collections of contemporary and classical art from around the world. No trip to Montreal is complete without stopping at the historic and charming Old Port, where you can stroll along the cobblestone streets, enjoy live music, and indulge in some delicious French-Canadian cuisine. One of my favorite restaurants in the city is Grinder, a top-notch seafood restaurant. Whether you're a history buff, an art lover, or simply looking for a fun escape, Montreal has something for everyone.

3. Aspen, Colorado – When visiting Aspen, Colorado, there is no shortage of amazing attractions to experience. For those who enjoy skiing or snowboarding, the four nearby mountains offer some of the best slopes in the country. If you prefer exploring the great outdoors during the summer months, hiking and biking trails are plentiful and provide breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. When you want to relax, head over to the local hot springs, where you can soak in natural mineral water while surrounded by stunning scenery. Don't forget to explore the charming downtown, filled with trendy shops and restaurants, and catch a show at the historic Wheeler Opera House. Aspen is known to attract celebrities and the ultra-rich, so keep an eye out because you may run into the likes of Oprah, Kylie Jenner, or Jeff Bezos. Whether you are seeking adventure or relaxation, Aspen has something to offer every type of traveler!

4. Saugatuck, Michigan – If you are not from Michigan or the Midwest Saugatuck may not be a familiar name to you. If you're looking for a charming and picturesque destination, make Saugatuck, Michigan your next stop. Nestled along the shores of Lake Michigan, Saugatuck boasts a plethora of attractions that cater to all interests. From gallivanting around Oval Beach, named one of the top 25 beaches in the world by Condé Nast Traveler, to taking in the stunning views from the top of Mount Baldhead, there is no shortage of natural beauty to enjoy. For those seeking a more urban vibe, take a stroll down the Douglas Historic District for quaint shops and delectable eateries. Saugatuck is also known to be a very LGBTQ-friendly retreat (some call it the Fire Island of the midwest). No matter what you choose to do, you won't regret taking a trip to Saugatuck.

5. Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands – St. Thomas has been a vacation spot for my family since I was 13 years old. This beautiful island in the Caribbean boasts some of the best attractions that you won't want to miss. One of the top attractions on the island is the world-famous Magens Bay Beach, which offers breathtaking views of crystal-clear water and stretches of white sand. If you're a history buff, you can't miss the chance to visit Fort Christian, the oldest standing structure in the Virgin Islands. For a unique experience, take a stroll through the 17th-century cobblestone streets of Charlotte Amalie, where you can soak up the island's rich culture and enjoy shopping for handmade souvenirs. My favorite resort on the Island is the Ritz Carlton which is secluded but still close enough to all the action. Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or a little bit of both, Saint Thomas has something for everyone. Come explore this paradise and make unforgettable memories!
